This is the story of a man who is possibly a creepy letch, and a woman who is definitely too stupid for Hollywood.

PROLOGUE | Sari Kamin has joined countless women to post details about her encounters with Hollywood screenwriter and director James Toback (Bugsy; Two Girls and a Guy). Sari Kamin evidently expects applause for doing so. But what Sari Kamin can’t seem to wrap her mind around is her own foolish, stupid, even dishonest actions that led her to participate in a series of rather lame, disgusting, but harmless encounters with Toback, encounters which she could easily have walked away from at any point. She didn’t walk away, but kept at it until, lo and behold, Toback allegedly followed through on the intentions he had very clearly made to her, after she traipsed up to his hotel room. Shamed and angry, she fled.

It is not as if Sari Kamin was an actress with a career and a reputation and a body of work. She was not an actress at all, but an aspiring actress, and she knew that, and has now admitted it. When the writer/director hit on her in a Kinko’s on Manhattan’s Upper West Side, she let that detail slide and lied. Yes, she was an actress, she told him. And all along her quest, she allowed that lie to stand. She took a good hard look at someone she obviously found disgusting, and globbed up the same food he was glopping up at fancy restaurants while horrifying her with his lecherous stories. She pretended it didn’t offend her, the only acting she has done, for an audience of one.

Now, in the Weinstein debacle, Sari Kamin has bravely jumped on the bandwagon with the rabble of misfits and wannabes who have had brushes with fame, disappointment, and hairy old men.

The Sari Kamins of the world, countless women and men in Hollywood, still can’t seem to come to grips with the reality that it is their own unbridled lust for the fame, money, and glory that causes them to chase dreams and careers in an industry that produces quite a lot of garbage.

I communicated this to Sari Kamin in a lengthy comment at Medium, the site where she self-righteously recounted her foolishness in detail. On Medium, when writers post their stories, not only do they have the ability to give “Applause” to positive comments (Medium’s cheesy equivalent of a Facebook Like button), they also have the ability to block users who criticize them, and even have offending posts deleted. This is the equivalent of an actress applauding back to the audiences who applaud her, while expunging bad reviews from the record.

But Sari Kamin is not an actress, at least not that I can find. After all these years, she has no credits at IMDb.com, and she lists none at her Web site, SariKamin.com.

Does Sari Kamin still have a taste for fame? Does she think she will find relevance or notoriety during the Weinstein scandal by going after an easy target like Toback? Or is she just a bit self-absorbed?

Below is my comment as it appeared beneath her article today at Medium.com, before she blocked me and had it nuked from the site. Since this afternoon, all other comments and threads which criticized her have also been expunged, and only five applauding comments remain.

You can read her article here (“I am one of the countless women that filmmaker James Toback has harassed”). It is the same article I read before I posted the comments below:

###

This is beyond the pale.

First, I wish Ms. Kamin the best in all things, and have no animus towards her. Also, I wouldn’t know Mr. Toback if he stood up in my soup, and will, in advance, concede that he may well be a creep, or far worse.

Are we clear? Have I sufficiently virtue-signaled? Good. Now for the ‘beyond the pale’ part:

In 2017, as the entire Hollywood industry is imploding over the consequences of its inhabitants’ long, disgusting quest for sex, money, fame and power, by the men and women alike, Ms. Kamin, writer of things, comes forward and describes some ‘harassment’ she experienced in 2003, fourteen years ago.

This is her story.

Sari really wants to be an actress. She is Xeroxing a script, and is approached by a 60-year-old bearded man with a cane, who she describes in these words: heavy, goateed, beady, dark, slow, creaky, girth, weight, frail, capricious. Quite descriptive. She was obviously extremely observant and paying attention. She never really says whether this man was her type. No “geez, he was disgusting,” or “I held back my vomit,” or “not in a pig’s eye.”

Sari really wants to be an actress. When asked if she ‘is’ an actress, she lies to this Weak and Weighty Fop, knowing she is only ‘an aspiring actress.’ Her words, her admission.

Sari really wants to be an actress. She continues talking to the frail and becaned Mr. Slow & Creaky. When he pulls out a DVD with his name on it, and — wait for it — his Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences membership card (impressive, right?), she doesn’t see this as a red flag or a ham-handed gesture of desperation. No, quite to the contrary, she has just examined his bona fides, concludes he is The Big Deal he says he is, and continues talking to him.

Sari really wants to be an actress. Mr. Creaky says he felt instantly connected to her. He only casts women he feels instantly connected to. So, wow, what a break! She wants to be cast, he casts women, but only women he’s connected with — and he’s connected with her! And she’s a woman! She’s hooked. This is her big break, her Schwab’s Pharmacy moment, but at Kinko’s.

Sari really wants to be an actress. A few days later, she’s dining with Toback at Elaine’s. No word about how they connected since they met. Did they exchange phone numbers? Did he ask her out, or did she ask him out? Did they go Dutch, or did he pick up the check? No details. I guess was just have to assume, then, don’t we, that Toback called Sari, she remembered him in vivid, beady detail, he asked her out, she said yes, and he picked up the check. I mean, I don’t wish to appear sexist, but that’s the way it works, doesn’t it, at least way back in the caveman days of 2003. I think if Sari had paid her share or treated the creaky old codger to a plate of pasta, she would have included that detail.

Sari really wants to be an actress. It’s Sari and James’s Big Night! Mr. Big is hungry. Mr. Big has sauce on his face. Mr. Big has pasta in his beard. Mr. Big has no napkin, and Sari never offers him one. Mr. Big has been talking big about all the big stars he’s worked with and his Big Career, evidently with his mouth full. Disgusting, but not disgusting enough to walk away from. The evening continues…

[Let’s pause for a moment: Are you seeing a pattern here? No? Not seeing anything just a bit weird? Keep reading.]

He talks about [his] career, his films, and his hobbies, like masturbating seven times a day to tune his equilibrium. So he’s energetic and balanced, not so frail after all. He asks her what she’s afraid of. Sari tells him she was “nervous” that he wanted to sleep with her and never intended to cast her in his film. Think about that. Not nervous that he wanted to sleep with her, full stop. Just nervous that she may later discover she was never really up for a part, that it was all a ruse. That would be a bummer, you see. Sleeping with someone and not getting a film role. No wonder she was nervous.

Ladies and gentlemen, let us pause for a reverie, a moment of Clarity, Wisdom and Truth from Ms. Sari Kamin about The Way Things Are in Hollywood:

“There is an unspoken understanding in the entertainment industry that if you are truly committed to finding success you will do whatever what it takes. When you’re a woman, this means making sacrifices.”

Sari really wants to be an actress. She is truly committed. She is ready to make sacrifices. After all that talk of masturbation coming out of Toback’s cavernous spaghetti hole, she didn’t walk away from the table. She stayed. And she went out for dinner again, and again, and again, all the while knowing exactly what Toback wanted (sex with her), what she wanted (a role from him), nervous it might not turn out that way (he wouldn’t hold up his part of the bargain, but she would hold up his part for him). She wanted to keep trying and give it a shot anyway.

Sari really wants to be an actress. She plods on and on about her ordeal. She kept going out to dinner with The Cavernous, Spaghetti-Faced, Masturbating Bear. She felt sick. She hated being with him. She pretended to enjoy it… because (wait for it): “I was an aspiring actress and I wanted to be a real actress.” (It sounds like she never did come clean about that lie, doesn’t it?) He asks her to a hotel. She agrees. He paid $600 in cash at the desk. We’ll be charitable and assume it was to the hotel, not to her. They go upstairs. They go into the room. They close the door. The door to the room. The hotel room. The room with the bed in it. He asked her to take her clothes off. She doesn’t want to. She protests. He looks at her with scorn and says it’s what you have to do to be in the movies.

Sari really wants to be an actress. So she takes off her clothes. Plush upholstery. Half-open window. Chilly air. She’s scared. He’s commodious. He talks of orgies. She was 23. But hey, this is the guy who wrote “Bugsy.”

Mr. Meaty-Hands kneels, stares, rubs, grunts. She’s confused. She wonders if he’s trying to “get off.” She asks him so. He says “absolutely.” She’s shocked!

So this is what he had been talking about all this time? This is the connection he had been after? Holy crap! She’d been had, without actually having been had!

“I bolted upright, threw on my clothes, and hurried out the door.”

Hooray! She managed to get away without rape, just rubbing, and a few free dinners.

She warned her dancer friend Lauren about Toback years later. Lauren is saved! Sari never saw Toback again. But damn it, she saw his name plastered all over concrete buildings. Those damn buildings. All concrete and stuff, with Toback’s name plastered all over them. And she had to see it. The shame.

But hey, she walked away with her dignity.

After researching where and how to mail them, I’m sharing what I’ve found and inviting you to mail letters, too. (Hit me up if you find better information.)

Use hashtag #LettersToRocketMan to Tweet photos of your letters. Here’s where you can start:

His Excellency Kim Jong-un
Chairman, Chosun Communist Party
c/o The Permanent Representative of the DPR of Korea to the United Nations
820 2nd Ave, Rm 13A
New York NY 10031-5421

I’ll place my personal letter in a size 6 3/4 envelope (unsealed, with the flap tucked in), and place that inside a larger size 10 envelope addressed to their office, with a request that it be delivered to Rocket Man in Pyongyang.

I would love to get a letter directly into the hands of Rocket Man, or at least the people who read his mail. (And I would really love to get a letter back!) But
the U.S. Postal Service does not deliver mail to North Korea.

However, NoKo has an embassy in Beijing, China. I can mail a letter there and ask the diplomats to forward it to Rocket Man in Pyongyang. Surely getting a letter that deep inside Rocket Man’s official administration will increase my chances. Here’s the mailing address:

His Excellency Kim Jong-un
Chairman, Chosun Communist Party
c/o His Excellency Mr. Ji Jae-ryong
Embassy of the DPR of Korea
11, Ri Tan Bei Lu, Jian Guo Men Wai
Chaoyang District
100600 Beijing

CHINA

I wonder how people in NoKo mail letters to him. There doesn’t seem to be a North Korean street or mailing address for KJU on the Internet. We know he lives in the Ryongsong Residence (also known as Residence No. 55) in Pyongyang. You can view the compound on Google Maps in detail. Streets are visible but not labeled.

If we could send mail directly to North Korea from the U.S., this is how we would address the envelope:

His Excellency Kim Jong-un
Chairman, Chosun Communist Party
Kumsoosan, MiAm-dong, DaeSung district
Pyong Yang
DPR KOREA

Meanwhile, I’ll aim as close as I can. Who knows, maybe Rocket Man will write back.

SOURCES: WhitePages.com; USPS.com; Quora.com.
CORRECTIONS: The DPR Korea’s current ambassador to China is His Excellency Ji Jae-ryong, not Mr. Choe Jin-su. Jin-su was replaced by Mr. Choe Pyong Gwan, who served for six months until Jae-ryong was installed in October 2010.

I know because their company name and IP address, originating from 1600 Ampitheatre Parkway, appeared in my visitor log tracked by my statistics analytics service. (See graphic below.)

Perhaps I should be pleased to see that LoudCitizen.org has attracted their interest. But the increasing suppression of free speech from tech giants like Google, Facebook and Twitter only makes me wonder if I am on their radar like so many others.

I haven’t been this concerned since 2010, when I reported on Ray Kelly’s speech about Barack Obama’s and Eric Holder’s decision the host to terrorist Khalid Sheikh Mohammed’s “criminal” trial in lower Manhattan.

That story not only attracted multiple visits from White House servers, but just about every branch of government and major media (see my Lucky Lotto page, where I have documented notable site visits). The morning I noticed the White House was reading my piece, I was thrilled, but also a bit nervous that someone was accessing my story from servers originating from the IP address of The Executive Office of the President, www.eop.gov.

This morning I am just as concerned, but not the least bit thrilled.
The GAB handle @LoudCitizen is now my emergency free-speech backup for my account at Twitter, and Facebook and YouTube are now joined by many new URL identity accounts, starting, of course, with:

Periscope (Pscp.tv/LoudCitizen), my new live broadcast channel;

Vimeo (Vimeo.com/LoudCitizen) for video files;

SoundCloud (SoundCloud.com/LoudCitizen) for audio files that feed to:

iTunes (iTunes.com/LoudCitizen) for podcasting

My new project and patron funding channels are:

GoFundMe (GoFundMe.com/LoudCitizen);

WeSearchr (WeSearchr.com/users/LoudCitizen); and

Patreon (Patreon.com/LoudCitizen); plus

A Tweetable, textable personal PayPal link (PayPal.me/PKlenk), and Web site buttons for direct credit card donations without a PayPal account

The highly popular Pinterest, Reddit, and Instagram
are now reserved with URL-branded accounts. I am giving myself a
crash course in their purposes, how they function, and how to thread
them strategically into other social media (I may not use Reddit, but
the handle is mine). Even my old Skype username LoudCitizen can let me make free international audio and video calls (and maybe WhatsApp
can, too). As I identify additional emerging sites that are essential,
valuable, or have potential, I will secure my branded accounts on them
and build them into the platform.

It’s official. Speaker Paul Ryan is insane.

I received a letter in the mail from him today on the letterhead of the National Republican Congressional Committee.

The letter is dated “Monday Morning” (?) and came in a large envelope bearing a 3¢ stamp and two 1¢ stamps (depicting strawberries and peaches) but no date on the postmark — in fact, no date of any kind, anywhere in the materials.

The first page of Speaker Ryan’s letter contained a long code [<span style="font-family: "courier new" , "courier" , monospace;">000AG002392] and an urgent
warning: “If for any reason the number on your State of the Nation
Survey...” (which he also enclosed) “...does not match this Registration
Number, contact the NRCC immediately.” Ryan is mailing us letters with codes and asking us to verify them back to his Committee. Think about that.

What was really alarming is that he ranted for four full pages. Honestly, does he think anyone reads these things? I guess he never read Sir Herbert Beerbohm Tree’s observation, “Persons without a sense of humour always write long letters; and I have noticed, too, that all madmen write letters of more than four pages.” (Nothing matters, and other stories, Houghton Mifflin, 1916)

Sir Herbert called such writing “One of the most alarming signs of insanity.”

Paul Ryan really is a lunatic.

I respect Congressman King, but noticed how weak his language was when talking about North Korea and Iran, MS-13, taxes, and the treatment of police.

We need to call things what they are. It is time to stop describing the deadliest people and worst injustices in muted, inoffensive language. People will not viscerally connect with these real threats, and they certainly will not connect with the leader claiming to fight against them.

(He also never mentioned President Trump and how he plans to partner with him on these issues.)

New York, August 23, 2017 — I had a bit of nervous fun today shooting two minutes of video inside Barnes & Noble on Fifth Avenue in New York City. Author Milo Yiannopoulos challenged his fans to shoot videos and photos of themselves reading his excellent, radioactive new book Dangerous in the most dangerous places they can find. I already own the Kindle edition, so after work I walked up Fifth Avenue to 46th Street, hoping to find this necessary prop for my shoot.

Dangerous was not on B&N’s New Release tables as you walk in. I was already mildly skeptical I would find it, and a bit nervous about possible plans to video in the store. I kept browsing, then inquired at an information desk. The clerk searched his computer, found the product in stock, and directed me to Current Affairs.

Books by right-leaning authors with newsworthy topics like Donald Trump, Islam, and impeachment dominate this section, which I expected to find merchandised more prominently in the store. But B&N has relegated Current Affairs to the basement. In the back, actually.

I didn’t see the book. Its bold cover didn’t pop out from the shelves, and they weren’t consistently alphabetized. I took another long, careful look through each of the three six-level shelving units. No luck.

At this point I knew I should document the store’s selection without tipping off the staff, who may have banished it to the stockroom until it is specifically requested. So using my iPhone video, I systematically panned across each shelf in Current Affairs, from the top down, left to right, and back again. My video ends where the adjacent African American section begins.

SPOILER ALERT: If you haven’t seen the video yet, stop and watch it now before continuing.

After 125 seconds of filming, I pocketed my phone. At that moment I was approached by a clerk asking me if I needed something. I wondered whether she saw me shooting, but I kept my poker face, she kept hers, and I told her what I was looking for.

She pulled a copy of Dangerous right off the shelf in front of me. Three copies had escaped my careful search. A tad embarrassed, but happy to have my copy, I thanked her and nervously glided upstairs to the cashier.

A word about the book design: The book cover was not facing out, only the spine; its muted design does not mirror the front cover we know from admiring Amazon searches. A friendly but serious suggestion to Milo: consider redesigning the spine of the dust jacket before the next printing. Keep the white background and the iconic red font without the shadow effect. Your baby will not hide so easily. And the first editions, like your preview copies with their yellow interior liners, will be more collectible!

To spot Dangerous more easily in the video, use the pause and slow motion. The book is about a foot to the right of This Fight Is Our Fight by Elizabeth Warren. If you give up, hit pause at 0:53. Dangerous is immediately to the left of Daring To Drive by Manal al-Sharif, who, like so many female drivers, parallel parked her memoir too close to Milo’s new best-seller.

The so-called controversy about Milo Yiannopoulos is an easy call for me, and should be for you. Feel free, like I do, to joyfully support Milo 100%, without reservation, without conflict, and without hypocrisy.

Now, this position requires the following: That you know how to read; that facts interest you and you can discern them autonomously; that you know what pedophilia is and what it isn’t; and that you have a moderate, firsthand familiarity with Milo’s body of work in print, on stage and video, and in interviews. It would also help if you are honest and humble about your own flaws. For some, this may be asking a lot.

If you cannot attest to the above, I don’t think I can help you. Before reading further, I urge you to stop and do some homework. To begin, watch a few full-length, unedited videos of Milo from the past 18 months. There are a lot of them on YouTube. These performances will cover his ideas, his tactics, and enough of his personal history for you to be able to say you’ve held up your end as an informed judge. (As an added benefit, they are highly entertaining.) Then decide.

For the more informed among you, I am likely preaching to the choir. Milo makes his own defense easily, far better than I can. Just read his recent statements (here and here) and watch his press conference in light of his disinvitation to CPAC and lost book deal, and subsequent resignation as Senior Tech Editor at Breitbart.

So with that out of the way, let me enjoy singing his praises:

Milo Yiannopoulos occupies an extremely rarefied sub-sub-category in the worlds of conservatism (though Milo would prefer libertarianism) and homosexuality. It’s hard enough to find a prominent conservative-libertarian who admits to engaging in same-sex relations. But can you name even one other gay conservative (without Googling) who: A] openly admits that his practice of homosexuality goes against his firmly and sincerely held religious beliefs; B] comes down, when push comes to shove, on the side of his faith; C] would, all things be equal, rather be straight and isn’t ashamed to say so; and D] is perfectly willing to embrace such a life with the liberal use of prayer and jumper cables?

Of course you can’t. This illustrates Fact #1 about Milo: He is one of a kind.

Milo’s erudite, lightning-like discourse, his verbal wit and humor, and his scathing polemics are something to behold. He is informed. He is fearless. He is funny. He is fair. Milo is clever and nuanced, outrageous and poignant. His theses are sometimes inscrutable and even grotesque, like paintings by Bosch or Magritte or Dali. If you merely glance at them, you will miss their richness. You must take ample time, look at every detail (without averting your eyes), and then cohere them into a whole portrait. There just isn’t enough space in this essay to educate the casual reader about Milo; I may as well try to help you appreciate fine wines or John’s Book of Revelation in one article. Milo requires time and reflection.

It is in his many paradoxes that Milo stands apart. He is courageous while generous, scathing yet affectionate, brutal but forgiving.

Most important, of course, is that his message is true and needs to be heard in America today, especially on university campuses. This should be one of our strategic priorities.

What is exciting about this fellow is that he is only in the early stages of his life and work. He is growing in knowledge, wisdom, and skill. His ideas are cohering, ever-increasingly, to the point of becoming weaponized. Or, if that is too scary for you, they are becoming distilled into a miracle vaccine. Milo Yiannopoulos is doing for Political Correctness and freedom of speech what Jonas Salk did for polio and walking on two legs.

If you are a fan of Milo, cringe if you must at his current crisis. Mock him, haters, if it makes you feel better. But love him or hate him, do not make the mistake of being dismissive or counting him out. I shan’t.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-38016504.post-83759813894417947482017-02-03T01:49:00.000-05:002017-02-03T02:19:07.516-05:00Highlights of Ann Coulter’s book signing at the Women's National Republican Club in Manhattan
We were there to hear author Ann Coulter dish out her usual buffet of red meat, wit, and blinding sunshine, and she did not disappoint. We were also hoping to participate in the Q&A, buy her latest book, and get it signed with an “Ann & Me” photo op.

Ann smartly kept her remarks entertaining but short, to leave ample time for questions. Before I took my turn at the mic, I was reminded by the moderator to ask one question only, no speeches, and keep it short. My ‘Compliment, Compliment, Question’ format was shot down. Sorry, Milo.

I decided to ask Ann about the enormous task of deporting from the U.S. the millions of people here illegally, framed as a moral question of practical mercy: “Would you object,” I asked, “of giving all illegals a choice (as long as they register with biometric identification): Either self-deport and apply to enter legally, and earn entry and possibly citizenship in the same line as everyone else; or stay as permanent legal residents, but forever give up any possibility of citizenship and government benefits?”

“Yes,” she said, reminding me of a passage in “¡Adios, America!: The Left’s Plan to Turn Our Country into a Third World Hellhole.” To paraphrase her, “That is a siren song for many, but it would be unfair to create a second class of people who are not citizens.”

She sold me. It truly is a siren song. A hard pill to swallow, but it must be all or nothing.

After the talk, I got in line and said hello to Ann. She was delighted to learn that she and I attend the same church. I left with a signed copy of “In Trump We Trust: E Pluribus Awesome!” and my Tweetable trophy photo. Below is an account of the harassment of a Spanish-speaking woman by a male Trump supporter on a Manhattan train platform, posted on Facebook two evenings ago.

In the interest of creating awareness and bringing this matter to a just conclusion, I am posting the account verbatim, with identifying details redacted. I have have also offered my friend (who posted his friend’s complaint) to assist her in identifying the person, reporting it to the authorities, and identifying the individual in the report.

If and when I reach the woman, I have the law enforcement information I need to help her report the incident. — p.k.

“This happened to a good friend, [occupation redacted], a woman, in Manhattan today. This is real, it is happening in America, and it is being done in the name of the President of the United States.”
"Ogre-sized dude in a MAGA hat with goddamned earflaps (EARFLAPS!) just got in my face while I was on the phone with [name redacted] because I was speaking Spanish. SPANISH! You'd think that it was an affront to God the way this angry neckbeard was wargleblargling in my freaking face while all of the people on this crowded train platform, the dozens of people around us stayed completely quiet. Not one person intervened while this giant man jabbed his finger in my face and stood over me. He was so up in my personal space that the toes of his boots touched mine. Not. One. Person.

They just stood there looking scared.
This is what standing alone looks like:
Him: This is America, speak American or get out.
Me: What's that?
Him: You don't know what American is?
Me: Do you? Excuse me. ::I try to walk around him::
Him: ::blocks my path:: You're telling me you don't know what American is?
Me: It's a word denoting citizenship to these United States, but it's not a language.
I believe the word you're looking for is "English." Excuse me.
Him: ::blocks my path again:: Whatever, you dumb wetback bitch. Trump is f***ing president now so go back to wherever you were born.
Me: [City of origin redacted]?! I'd love to, but the traffic on the 95 is a shitshow at this hour. Have a great night!
Him: Lying bitch, I heard you speaking Mexican.
Me: That's not a thing. Now, if you'll please excuse me--
Him: SPANISH, OKAY? GO TO WHEREVER IT IS THAT THEY SPEAK SPANISH.
Me: So . . . Ecuador?
Him: Go home.
Me: Bolivia?
Him: Go home.
Me: Venezuela?
Him: Go home!
Me: Spain?
Him: GO HOME!
Me: South Korea? Where do you want me to go because last I checked, people speak Spanish all over the goddamned world so unless an INFANT can spread its legs at least EIGHTEEN THOUSAND F***ING MILES and be born in TWENTY PLACES AT ONCE, I highly doubt that I can go "wherever it is that they speak Spanish."
Incidentally, I heard you speaking "dumbf--k." CAN YOU SHOW ME WHERE THE REPUBLIC OF DUMBF---ISTAN IS ON A MAP?
No?
Much can result from pursuing our greatest desires.

As the 2015-16 U.S. presidential campaign kicked off, I dedicated myself early to helping my candidate, Donald Trump, in the primary and general elections (a challenge in New York City). This election cycle I combined my love of busking with my love of campaigning, as I had 16 years ago during George W. Bush’s run. In 2000, my efforts brought me from rallying by myself in Times Square each night during the recount (broadcasting to the world on live Web cams!), to Washington, D.C. on inauguration day in 2001, singing “God Bless America” in the front of the Supreme Court, the site where W’s victory was vindicated.

During Mr. Trump’s run, while I occasionally worked the phone banks in Trump Tower on Fifth Avenue in NYC, I also started to practice “The Star Spangled Banner,” knowing it may come in handy at political meetings and rallies. The anthem is a challenge to sing well, making it an excellent workout in the subway over my lunch hour.

As my tenor voice rang through the mezzanine at Grand Central, and I witnessed commuters break into smiles and goosebumps, I knew it was time to find opportunities to sing at volunteer events. From my first performance at a Team Trump 5k walk/run and picnic in Central Park, I won the hearts of workers and one of our amazing coordinators, Nicole, while discovering a purpose for my singing — to energize and electrify the hearts and souls of citizens supporting Donald Trump.

One volunteer who heard me after the election, Vlad, clued me into the power of singing. “Remember,” he said, “everywhere you go with your God-given gift, you can change the atmosphere.” He become a friend and my most ardent fan, but more important, he insisted on reminding me of the power of my voice each time we met, and nudzhing me to sing. His words were so compelling that I scheduled them to pop up on my iPhone each morning at 11:30.

I really wanted to sing at a ball or event on inauguration day, and told my fellow volunteers of this dream. I had given my vacation notice for that Friday, reserved hotel rooms, arranged transportation with a friend, and requested tickets to the Capitol swearing-in from my elected representatives in Washington. All I had left to do was pack my black velvet evening jacket and find a place to sing.
Our Capitol tickets to Green Section #14 were not in our hands until the afternoon of January 19; John and I were driving to Washington that evening. Alas, no ball tickets were to be had, and we didn’t have time to find another party. I was realistic from the beginning, of course, that I wouldn’t be standing on the east front of the Capitol building, singing to a worldwide audience. We were simply thrilled that we managed to arrange this momentous trip and snag tickets that are very hard to come by.

The morning of January 20, we rode the Metro red line from Silver Springs to the Capitol South station, walked to the gates, and passed through the security checkpoint to Green Section #14, a narrow standing-only section. But we realized at some point we had made it into Green Section #12, standing at the edge of a wide seating area (where two of Duck Dynasty’s Robertson brothers sat a few chairs from us).

It was grand. We had made it! We were about to witness history! John and I shook hands, pinched ourselves, and took pictures while we drank in the splendor of the Capitol building, the choirs, the bunting, the large-screen TVs, and the dense crowds reaching as far down the mall as we could see.

While we waited for the 11:30 a.m. ceremony to begin, the U.S. Army Band played fanfares to announce the entrances of the many dignitaries in attendance. After each spoken introduction, there was a short lull while the crowds patiently waited in the cool air.

Singers sing. That is what we do. And so during a lull, I began to gently sing the national anthem for those immediately around me. Gradually, I kicked my operatic voice into high gear and threw the melody out further and further into the crowd, capturing the increasing attention of celebrants who became silent as they heard the singer in their midst.

At the song’s climax, “O’er the land of the free,” I held the high G to a long, gentle decrescendo, while the crowd seemed to hold its breath. They were in my grip as I concluded: “And the home of the brave?”

Then, an eruption of cheers and applause! Phones were pointing in my direction, and countless eyes of men and women were beaming right into mine with grateful, radiant smiles.

My dream to sing “The Star Spangled Banner” at President Donald J. Trump’s Inauguration had come true.
I personally witnessed the swearing-in of President Donald J. Trump last Friday in Washington, D.C., and enjoyed the weekend there with a good friend and many amazing volunteers from Mr. Trump’s campaign. The time spent in our Capitol brought the reward of many, many stories to tell, so many that when I arrived home here in Harlem, NYC, I realized I need to write them down.

LIFE OF A WRITER: It has been some time since I’ve published regularly here at LoudCitizen.org. When I wrote more frequently, some of the more ‘newsy’ items were picked up by major Web sites (see “Friends and mentions” at right). One in particular was read from White House servers at eop.gov hours after I posted it (guess which one by leaving a comment!). And in fact, almost six years ago, long before I imagined Mr. Trump would run for office, I published a defense of him by documenting a malicious and erroneous attack on his reputation by The Smoking Gun (Donald Trump, “Death Dodger,” avoids war service by — gasp! — common, legal, and honest methods).

Meanwhile, since putting this site on hold, I’ve enjoyed growing success as a writer, having numerous works of original creative non-fiction and poetry published by The New York Times. I’m ready to take things to a new level, and I have enough material to stay busy for months.

So it’s back to the keyboard! In honor of the first inauguration of President Trump; as a thank you to (and in support of) him for an inspiring weekend; and, most important, to document firsthand experiences in Washington, LoudCitizen.org is now officially reinaugurated with new political commentary, media analysis and criticism, and citizen reporting.
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">In case you have not yet been alerted, serious allegations of plagiarism — in the form of the refactoring of others’ work without citations, in lieu of original work of her own — are being made on the Internet about the Michelle Fields book referenced above, which Crown Forum published and continues to market.
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">

<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;"><span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif;">As a writer myself, I find this extremely offensive, as I know how difficult and laborious it is to originate good work, and even harder to get it published. When word of this gets out to your other authors, and it will, I can assure you they will not take this lightly. If true, as Crown Forum authors, their work and reputations will be diminished by their association with a publisher of plagiarism. If it is true, I hope Crown Forum will recall the book immediately and refund all purchases, regardless of how few copies have been sold.
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">

<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">To my best knowledge, this discovery was made, and news of it first published, by attorney Travis Miller, attorney Mike Cernovich of DangerandPlay.com, and Charles C. Johnson, CEO of WeSearchr.com, two of whom are copied on this e-mail.
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">

<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">The evidence given of this alleged fraud (see links below) include numerous samples of Fields’ work side-by-side with the work of others.
<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">

<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">As you will see, the samples do not show lengthy, wholesale “word for word” copying, but rather highly suspicious re-writing of the samples that strongly suggest:

<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">Fields did not originate the ideas in her passages;

<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">Fields is not conversant in the subjects she is writing about;

<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">Fields found passages written by others with the same ideas and often identical phrasing; and

<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">Fields merely re-factored these passages by restating others’ phrases using different words, but not enough to cover her tracks and hide her plagiarism;

<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">Fields passed off the work as her own, without credit to others.

<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">I myself found such a passage on my first attempt. At Amazon.com, I found her book, clicked on “Look Inside” and “Surprise Me” to find random pages. <span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">

<span style="font-family: "times" , "times new roman" , serif; font-size: large;">Further evidence that Fields did not truly “author” this work is her complete lack of knowledge of her book when confronted on television by Steve Malzberg (view here: youtu.be/iuymFwfF1TY).
Today, Special Prosecutor Angela Corey put into motion a seemingly baseless, unjust prosecution of an innocent man, or at best a very flimsy and unnecessary legal case, purely in response to pressure from an angry mob. And today, George Zimmerman learned that he has a grave fight ahead of him. This is all because the accused was unselfishly helping the police protect a neighborhood with a history of burglaries. He was, he claims, attacked by Trayvon Martin, a suspicious young man with an arguably thuggish personality, who was once found with a utterly suspicious cache of jewelry and a burglary tool which he himself admitted were not his own. George Zimmerman’s crime, it seems, was defending himself against serious injury or death, using a legal weapon and deadly force, in accordance with the law.
The bad news for George Zimmerman is not just that he has been charged with second degree murder today. It is also bad news for him that the person pressing the charges, Angela Corey, stated the following:

“Remember, it is Trayvon’s family who are our Constitutional victims.”

With this sort of mindset, it is hard to take Corey seriously as a justice-minded prosecutor.

Corey’s statement just isn’t true legally unless Zimmerman is found guilty; in fact, if Trayvon was attacking Zimmerman as claimed, Trayvon isn’t a victim, either. Remember: If, and only if, Zimmerman committed a crime, the victim would first and foremost be Trayvon, “constitutionally.” Corey’s statement signals that she took the steps she took not on behalf of Florida’s law and its citizens, but on behalf of the (possibly unwitting) family, its band of merry (witting) race-baiting, riot-inciting rabble-rousers, Sharpton and Jackson, and the easily aroused mob that is influenced by them.

Corey appears to be bowing to public pressure, notwithstanding her assertions to the contrary, which no prosecutor should have to make. If her case is compelling, it will stand on its own when presented to a judge. If it isn’t, no smiling assertion in a press conference can change that. In no circumstance should such a press conference be necessary, except to briefly relay the barest of facts.

It is also telling that Corey requested the public pray for Trayvon’s family, and for her team, but not for Zimmerman. If Trayvon was the attacker and Zimmerman the innocent defender, I would still ask (and do ask) everyone to pray for all parties. Why is the accused not worthy of our prayers?

None of this is good news for Zimmerman.

What is good news is that the legal process which Corey set in motion now shifts in favor of Zimmerman.

I base this on what looks like a well-researched, useful article at CNN breaking down the steps in the legal process, a process which will end in dismissal, acquittal, or conviction. (Please allow me a huge asterisk here; I am a lay person and not in a position to evaluate the work of Beth Karas and Jessica Thrill. Your informed comments or criticisms are welcome.)

Unless there is a bombshell that has been kept completely secret from the public, Zimmerman is in good shape when a judge looks at the charges and the defense asks for a dismissal (if the judge has more than half a brain, and one eye open). There are one or two main challenges ahead:

Challenge #1: Get the charges dismissed. If successful, George goes free.

To get the charges dismissed, the defense has the burden to prove (based on a preponderance of the evidence) in a pre-trial evidentiary hearing that Zimmerman is immune from those charges based on Stand Your Ground.

This means it must prove all three of the following to be true:

Zimmerman was not engaged in an unlawful activity.

Zimmerman was attacked in a place he had a right to be.

Zimmerman reasonably believed that his life and safety were in danger.

This strikes my lay mind as a bit tricky. #2 is a piece of cake; of course he had the right to be there. #1 seems problematic, because the defense is asked to prove a negative. “Okay, George, prove you weren’t engaged in an unlawful activity, or the trial will move ahead.” Maybe this will be extremely easy; that is, perhaps the prosecution must claim a specific unlawful activity first. And #3 should not be so very hard. He was getting pummeled in his head, a vital part of his body without which he could not live or function. But not knowing as much about past Stand Your Ground cases as I’d like to, I can only speculate.

If the defense fails to get a dismissal, it moves on to:

Challenge #2: Defend George against the charge of second degree manslaughter.

To me, this would actually seem easier (or at least as easy) for the defense, because the burden of proof moves to the prosecution. Of course I’d rather see the charges dismissed. It would be better for everyone. If they are not, there will be a lot of hand-wringing by concerned Zimmerman supporters. (Based on everything that is being claimed by both sides, at this point I consider myself a supporter.)

From the CNN article:

“Florida law describes murder in the second degree as an act that is “imminently dangerous to another and demonstrating a depraved mind” if it is an act or series of acts that:

a person of ordinary judgment would know is reasonably certain to kill or do serious bodily injury to another,

and
is done from ill will, hatred, spite, or an evil intent,

and
is of such a nature that the act itself indicates an indifference to human life.”

Here the prosecution has a seemingly insurmountable burden, one which, if Corey had her head screwed on right, she would not have undertaken.

Of course it is imminently dangerous to shoot another person. That’s a no-brainer. But how do you prove that Zimmerman, a neighborhood watch captain, demonstated a depraved mind? Well, without the aforementioned bombshell, you don’t.

After you prove his depraved mind, you still have a another three facts to prove (note the “and” after the first and second bullets). Again, it is easy to prove that a reasonable person would know that to shoot someone is certain to kill or do serious bodily injury to them. But Zimmerman must be proved to have done this from ill will, hatred, spite, or an evil intent, and that he was indifferent about it.

In summary: The prosecution’s challenge is to prove the following to be true beyond a reasonable doubt: Zimmerman demonstrated a depraved mind, AND he did it from ill will or hatred, AND he was indifferent to Trayvon’s life.

All three. Let’s see how they intend to do this.

Today, Trayvon’s grieving mother, Sybryna Fulton, said with a broken heart that all she ever wanted was an arrest. Well, every indication is that she has been granted her wish.

But if Zimmerman is found not guilty, or if the charges are dismissed, will Fulton let it rest? Or will she amend her wish to include both an arrest and a conviction? If the justice system gives her an outcome she doesn’t like, will she proclaim an injustice? With Sharpton at her side, the latter is more likely, but only time will tell. I would like to give her the benefit of the doubt, but since she is hanging out with Sharpton, I just can’t swing that. She’s clearly a smart lady and should know better. All I can give her is my heartfelt sympathy. That is something she deserves.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-38016504.post-58106392399102958032011-07-27T16:01:00.000-04:002011-07-27T16:01:30.910-04:00Someone tell Ann Coulter it’s now official: ‘Demonic’ spelled backwards is ‘Democrats’

A few years ago, I stumbled on an amusing domain name: itanimulli.com. It’s ‘Illuminati’ spelled backwards — you know, the same Illuminati that has infiltrated the deepest levels of our government, gathers information on everyone, secretly runs the world, and plants microchips in our teeth. The same Illuminati which is building bunkers where its powerful and wealthy members plan to ride out any danger of radiation when the world comes to an end, while breeding and slaughtering animals, and undertaking the regrettable task of performing prodigious acts of sacrificial (ahem) service in their safe and highly stimulating new environment.

If you want to freak out your conspiracy theorist friends, or just amuse your normal friends, tell them to spell Illuminati backwards, and a ‘.com’ to the end of it, and see where it takes them. (It points to NSA.gov, the official Web site for the National Security Agency and the Central Security Service of the United States. The domain is owned by one John Fenley of Provo, Utah, who registered it with GoDaddy.com and just forwarded it to http://www.nsa.gov.)

Which brings me to Ann Coulter’s brilliant new book, Demonic: How the Liberal Mob is Endangering America (Crown Forum / Random House).

If you haven’t read it, place a bookmark in whatever you’re now reading, buy a copy of Ann’s book, and finish it before the weekend is over. Demonic is a spectacularly researched eye-opener, and its chapters on the French Revolution, followed by her singularly penetrating comparative analysis of the American Revolution, are alone worth the price.

When Ann began promoting Demonic months ago, she teased us with the promise that she had unlocked the ultimate secret to understanding the fundamental nature of the liberal personality. She wouldn’t say exactly how at the time, but we learned how once the book hit the shelves: Liberals are a violent, unthinking mob. They feel, think, act, and respond like a mob, and when you understand this, you can unravel just about any liberal conspiracy, hoax, phony claim, catch phrase, bumper sticker, or campaign slogan, and watch it crumble into dust in your hands.

I still have a third of the book to go, so I’m hoping that in the final chapters Ann will also give us the solution to neutralizing the mob and overcoming it when it becomes dangerous. Okay, she’s already hinted at this early in the book: Respond with decisive (and if necessary, deadly) force, and watch the violent cowards fold.

Once you’ve fully absorbed the book, try out Ann’s nifty code-breaker on any liberal or progressive pamphlet, meme, or news story they’re flogging. You’ll be amazed how quickly you will learn to see through their transparent and utterly baseless claims. It will change the way you think about and respond to them; it sure has helped me.

So, as a tribute to Ann and her magnum opus, the domain name cinomed.com (demonic spelled backwards) now points to Democrats.org, the official Web site of the DNC. Type it in your browser and test it for yourself.

The next time you want to freak out your crazy liberal friends, tell them to spell ‘Demonic’ backwards, add a ‘.com’ to it, and see where it leads.

(And if you know how to reach Ann, would you kindly send this message to her as well? I’m sure it would make her smile.)Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-38016504.post-22902691796717035282011-04-29T17:09:00.018-04:002011-05-01T04:57:35.977-04:00Donald Trump, “Death Dodger,” avoids war service by — gasp! — common, legal, and honest methods

Donald Trump, we are learning today, sought student and medical deferments during the Vietnam war, according Selective Service records obtained by the Web site The Smoking Gun. He received the deferments before his draft number came up.

He got student deferments, allowing him to complete his education, and was later disqualified for medical reasons; by the time his number came up, he wasn’t required to serve.

Somehow this is supposed to be a big deal.

Nowhere in the story is it asserted that he lied or stretched the truth to avoid service. Neither does it say any doctor lied about his health, or that he really wasn’t in school when he said he was. Nor is it claimed Trump, his family, or his friends used any sort of influence to help him. No illegal or irregular actions by Trump the student are claimed. Only that he got deferments, which are legal.

The worst The Smoking Gun can come up with is a sin of omission, decades after the war: “[t]he word “deferment” was not mentioned by Trump during his chat...” in a TV interview Tuesday on WNYW. The story doesn’t come right out and claim that he lied; such a statement wouldn’t hold up. But by innuendo, and even by the very words “smoking gun,” they are trying to play a game of gotcha. If a gun is smoking, doesn’t that mean a crime (or lie) occurred?

The real failed attempt to paint Trump as a liar is as follows: Trump says that, while at Wharton, he was watching as they did the draft numbers and he got a very high number they never got to. But, cluck his critics, they did get to his number eventually — eighteen months after he left Wharton. See? He’s lying!

This accusation is flimsy when you actually look at it. Read Trump’s statement carefully: He said he was at Wharton watching when his number did not come up. That is the truth. His number never came up while he was at Wharton.

There’s nothing here, children. No improper deferments decades ago, no lies about it today.

I found it interesting that no byline appears over the story at TSG; whatever is proven or not proven about the piece, no single person can be blamed. I called TSG this afternoon to ask who wrote it, and learned from Managing Editor Andrew Goldberg, who answered the phone, that in fact all four staff members — himself, Willliam Bastone, Joseph Jesselli, and Miranda Lin — wrote and contributed to the piece; he said this is the practice for all pieces on the site. Goldberg was forthcoming enough with this information (I did have to persist a bit), and he was a bit frustrated that I did not tell him exactly where I was headed with my inquiry (after his repeated questioning, I told him I was writing a commentary, and gave him the name of this Web site).

Goldberg gave the impression that I should have ascertained authorship by reading TSG’s About page. It was already open in my browser when I phoned, but based on the information on the page, one could only make assumptions about who wrote any given piece. Under the heading Staff, the page includes names of two editors (himself and Bastone) and two reporters (Jesselli and Lin). I think it’s admirable that TSG hangs its reputation on its whole team, but perhaps a clarification about authorship of all articles would be in order.

Authorship is, perhaps, a side issue; either all four worked together to frame a false narrative to go with their Selective Service information, or one person came up with the “dodge” and “obfuscate” angles and we’re not being told who. My guess is, one person came up with the angle, and the other three jumped in gleefully. Either way, the deferments are a non-issue, and Trumps’s statement Tuesday is being puffed up into something it isn’t.

The heart of the story being fed to us, and echoed thoughtlessly, is that Trump avoided the draft. What about that?

Our country provided men of draft age with the opportunity to avoid service in Vietnam using respectful, honorable, and completely legal means. George Bush served honorably in the Guard, and John Kerry served dishonorably, lying about it afterwards, thus rightfully losing his grab for power. (And, thankfully, this prevented the equally repugnant John Edwards from joining him in the White House.)

Donald Trump did not serve in Vietnam. Is there something shameful about that? Of course not. And no stories we are being fed provide evidence he did anything dishonest then or now.

I for one am glad that Trump did not die in Vietnam. Is that wrong of me? Can’t we be glad that he obeyed the law, got a first-class education, dodged injury or, worse, a cruel death, and built a company that actually makes something and employs thousands? Obama (peace be on him) cannot claim to have done anything close to this. He went to school, he worked at Baskin-Robbins, he sat at the feet of America-haters and even a terrorist, and he agitated his way into state office, the U.S. Senate, and the Oval Office. But he has never run a company, has never made payroll, has never offered a product to the public (besides anger and resentment disguised as hope and change), and has never come through on his many grand campaign promises. He has not been open and transparent (an easy task) and he has not subdued the oceans (a messianic feat). He has turned out to be a phony, in every real sense of the word.

It is typical of many on the left to denounce the horrible Vietnam war, rewrite its history, praise anyone who protested it, and denounce anyone in leadership who contributed to it — while employing a double standard by accusing those that oppose them of being “draft dodgers.” Creepy John Kerry went further, shaming the men he served with and our country in general, claiming that atrocities he described were “not isolated incidents but crimes committed on a day-to-day basis with the full awareness of officers at all levels of command...”

In other words, even if Trump had served, he would have been guilty of war crimes.

UPDATE: 7:02 PM | I just found my own smoking gun; even I can miss a lie when it’s in plain sight. This one is in the very first line of The Smoking Gun’s story. Do you notice the word “solely” in that sentence? “Despite Donald Trump’s claim this week that he avoided serving in the Vietnam War solely due to a high draft number...”

When did Trump ever claim that he avoided military service solely due to a high draft number?

Anyone?
By exing out the ‘W’ of Where’s, and placing a red exclamation point sticker over the question mark in the title, he kept pace with current events by changing the book’s title to the more triumphant “Here’s the Birth Certificate!” The word ‘not’ in the subtitle has been covered with a smiley face sticker, reversing its meaning, and conveying the joy millions are feeling now that the birth question is a non-issue.
The best news for readers is the book’s new low price, $2.59, which is 90% below retail. This, too, required a sticker.

The final addition to his hardcover edition will be a copy of the birth certificate folded and inserted inside the back cover, for the benefit of people without access to the Internet or television.

By taking these measures, the economically savvy Corsi demonstrated that he knows how to avoid having a book remaindered even before it hits bookshelves: Market it as satire.

The big problem, critics are pointing out, is the body of the work. Corsi dismissed this by pointing out that no one actually reads such books anyway.

Authors and publishers across America are praising Corsi for his cleverness, and for opening up the floodgates for their new books that focus on Obama’s failed policies, ineptness, laziness, deceit, disdain for America, and the long-term damage he is causing the country.

Corsi continued to observe his “quiet period” at home today by frantically placing stickers on book jackets, and making public statements at World Net Daily and on his Facebook page.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-38016504.post-2344988267113506682011-04-21T08:41:00.013-04:002011-04-21T09:14:56.347-04:00DEMOTIVATION: Is Barack Obama a lesson in sheer vacuity of Aristotelian proportions?

You may be interested to learn that Web site publishers can see the key words you enter in your Google searches that link you to us. Since yesterday, site visits from all 50 states and over 20 foreign countries reveal that you are wondering, “How did Joshua Goldberg die?”
In response to your unspoken inquiries, I can only tell you that he sustained fatal injuries in a fall; no other specifics have been made public. The major New York and Washington newspapers have not even mentioned his death on their Web sites, and none of the many blog tributes published in the last day contain new information. (I do not know the family, and have made no attempt to contact them.)

Note that Joshua’s many admirers are not speculating about his death online; nor do I intend to. They are mourning his loss, and offering warm and generous tributes, but are also simply wondering how he died as they grieve. Again, we know very little, so we will have to wait patiently and let the family share further details in their own time, as they are able.

What do we know? Since the initial announcement by his mother yesterday, Saturday, February 12, we have learned that Josh passed away two days previously, on Thursday, February 10. His brother Jonah informed us that Josh was injured “a few days” before his death and remained in the hospital until the end. Give or take a day, that would date the fall most likely on Monday, February 7 — possibly a day before or after. No doubt since that terrible event, the family’s primary occupation has been caring for Josh and each other, and making arrangements for today’s burial.

Further, Jonah has informed us that the fall was accidental. His mother, Lucianne Goldberg, had already reassured us that Josh did not suffer, which is a comfort to everyone. That’s the best update I can provide right now.

Curiosity aside, it is gratifying to read the many online tributes which focus not on how Josh died, but how he lived. His run for City Council, his work at Ground Zero, and his countless patient e-mails to users and Lbloggers at BLL are well documented by the many who loved him. Rather than summarize these accounts, I thought I’d link to as many as I can find, and let you read for yourselves about this young man’s intelligence, humility, enterprising nature, passion for good government, and unfailing graciousness towards others. It is clear by reading them that they are genuine, and paint a consistent portrait of Josh. Feel free to send me links to your own or others’ tributes for inclusion here.
Lastly, I include a video of cantor Simon Cohen’s magnificent performance of “Hallelu Avdie” from the Seder Vilna, recorded live with choir and orchestra in Tel Aviv, Israel. It was shared today by the staff of Lcom, with this statement:

“In a search for appropriate music for this, the day of Joshua’s burial, all we could find was tragic, heavy, depressing prayers for the dead. We thought this was more appropriate and more like Josh, uplifting, beautiful and full of life. Good bye, Joshua. We loved you so.”
